Thanks to all yall "my friends" and all the encouragement that has been given !

Planning on using Chantix the next attempt at quitting this addiction to Nicotine! Till I get the Chantix, will be working on my triggers which are the worst on awaking and getting my coffee, and getting on the computer. Also, learning to put off that next cigarette, delaying lighting up, even 15 minutes. Using a filter on all my cigarettes ...called Tarblock.
The computer is my main trigger!
I've managed to literally be smokeless throughout the day,,,,when driving and outside/away from the house, keeping busy.
Wanting to create a support system as I'll really need it when the time comes to totally quit.
I also have chronic Bronchitis, "copd", acid reflux, high blood pressure, arthritis. At present on "Lisinopril 20/HCTZ 25, Nexium, Combivent, Celebrex & nebulizer treatments".
The nic demon still lingers. Starting to believe the only way I'll quit totally. Is to be locked up for awhile where I can't get my hands on any cigs.
Abstaining from alcohol n drugs are a breeze considering the addiction to nicotine !!!

Twice the number of smokers relapse as there are heroin addicts relapsing ! Your chances of quitting a Heroin addiction is greater than quitting a hard core smoking/Nicotine addiction !

It's easier to quit and stay quit than it is to relapse and start to quit again!

Hello old friend, How's it going? Have you started chantix yet? On Halloween I celebrated my tenth month smoke free. Ben is doing okay too he has nine and a half months in. We talk a lot on chat on his No Smoking site. We have been keeping each focused on our quits. I have missed you and the old gang. I have been staying on this site helping new quitters---paying back what I owe for all the help I got. If it wasn't for this site site and the other sites I would be smoking again. Thanks - looking forward to making new friends and definitely the support. Still getting my ducks in a row - figuring out triggers and how to get past them. I will be an ex-smoker - I know it - done it before. This time has to be different tho - has to be for good. Never have been a part of a support group like this before, so am going to utilize it to the fullest. Anyway - thanks again!

Hi Tony,
Montana weather is custom made for addicts. 10 degrees and calm one day, in the 50's and blowing the next. I've just gone off the Camel's and switched to Marlboro's for the final three days before quitting. No apparent side effects from Chantrix and the drug has reduced my cravings.
