I quit by using Chantix over one year ago and had a very similar experience. I could sleep and sleep. In the beginning I had a short bout of insomnia too... but minor.

I would bet that our sleeping was in direct relationship to the reduction of one of the most powerful "stimulants" known to man. You're also going through a psychological change and physical change in your habits and routine due to stopping smoking. It takes a temporary tole on us. But you ARE quitting and how COOL is that!
You are going to love being quit!

Hello Heids! You're making a great decision and I want to welcome you to this site. The first week of quitting is tough, but the tough part is only temporary. That's where this site comes in. You'll get lots of support here. Just jump into the discussions and groups and get involved and you be able to arrest your addiction because you won't tackle it alone.
