Hi, my name is Vance, and I am a struggling to quit smoker. I am only 20 but have been smoking since i was 18. I have come for help, support, advice, and to find a place of likeness.

Hello Vance! Welcome to this site. You are definitely in the right place because you don't have to do this alone and you no longer have to let smoking control every aspect of your life. You have alot more strength than you realize and you can be successful at your quit. We're all here for the same reason and there is lots of support here. You don't have to like quitting, just get through it the best you can. I'm glad that you're here! You are welcome to check out the newest group called "Yes, You Can." Get involved in discussions and group and you'll get tons of support to help you get through your cravings. My suggestion is to procrastinate. Put off lighting up till the craving goes away. Every time you get through a craving, you get stronger and the cravings get weaker until they eventually go away.

You will meet many here, from all walks of life and all ages who will offer you support, encouragement, and suggestions on your journey. I will suggest that you read all you can about your addiction on the blogs, individual pages, and in group discussions. Write on here often and join in the discussions for the ride of your life!! You are making a decision you will never regret....you are not loosing a friend, but are gaining a life!! Make sure you go to Michael Patterson's page, as he has been working with kids in the schools. Read his story and I'm sure it will motivate you. I would like to CONGRATULATE you on taking the first step towards a wonderful smoke free life!!
