About Me:
I'm a wife and mother who works part time as a waitress.
Smoked my first cigarette when I was eight years old and was a smoker by nine.I've had a 20 day quit once about 10 years ago and picked up for reasons unknown to me.I guess smoking is as natural to me as breathing being I've done it for over 3/4 of my life but I want that to change.

Getting there...

Have been tracking and seperating for quite some time now. Major changes in my life are going on and still have managed to put this smoke off for an hour or that one off until morning after coffee. That's a good thing. I've chosen June 26th as my quit date. If I quit before then so be it but it feels good to set a definite date. I chose Thursday on purpose as I'm off on Thursday and Friday then deal with the most difficult person I work with on Saturday....when the beast will be at it's worst LO… Continue

About tracking and seperating....

So far I've learned that if my smokes are handy, I smoke automatically without giving it a second thought.....no more keeping them handy.I've learned that smoking a cigarette doesn't actually help me to calm down any faster when I'm angry, stressed or shocked or just plain irritated. I can actually drive without a cigarette in my hand.I don't have to light up before my feet hit the floor in the morning.Still in separation mode but learning a lot from it and taking it to heart. Due to major stres… Continue

Getting started

Started the day yesterday tracking my smokes but got busy and forgot about it. Reminder to self...print sheet and keep it with your smoke pack...

Looking forward to start seperation tomorrow. Thinking I'm going to see just how long after that first cup of coffee I can wait, we'll see.

Bff seems to be supportive but I think may feel a bit threatened with her own smoking as both me and DH intend to quit.Wondering if she thinks her still smoking is going to affect our relationship.…

Sue, sounds like you are doing all the right things even though it may feel rough. I have to keep my mouth and hands active all the time otherwise I might slip. My home is really the benefactor of all my motions. Too bad I don't have a women to enjoy the same.

Thank you Sue for the words of encouragement. I really appreciate them. I'm 2days 7hrs 12min (lol) smoke free. I got a little out of control today - tears and all. Today seemed much worse than yesterday. But I guess it'll get a little worse, before it gets better. I could have strangled just about anybody today. But, I'm over it now. And will have a good day tomorrow. I want to breathe a clean, fresh breath of air. Wonder what that would feel like, after 20 yrs. I'm not sure I can remember the feeling. I just know I'm going to wake up one morning and be able to breathe - simply breathe!
