I need to quit

I've been planning to quit smoking tomorrow. It is independence day and I need to be free of cigs and all the ways that they control my life. I am unprepared for this, I know..... already planning how I can extend my smoking for a few hours or a few days. I hate getting help with this. Don't like posting... have never done it. I have been told that I need to get help from people who are trying to quit or have quit. So here I am. Rose

Hello Rosemary and welcome to BecomeanEx.org! This is the BEST stop-smoking website! I'm 54 and this is my 4th attempt at quitting smoking, and I haven't found it necessary to smoke since July 17, 2004. Quitting is scary, but it's one of the best decisions I've ever made. It's a lifestyle change, and also a newfound freedom and feeling of contentment I could never imagine before. You may hate the beginning of your quit, but deal with it the best you can. You won't have to go through it alone because you have us now.
