I quit cold turkey Thursday night I had my last cig.. I am praying that I make it. I am terrified of quitting but more terrified of dying of cancer and not being able to breathe... I have found great support here in my first and hopefully the toughest days.. Hang in there they tell me it can be done.. so far so good :)

This has been no where near what I thought I would. I was VERY scared at first, but soon found I had no reason to be. You can do this. This was my 1st attempt at quitting cold turkey after a 29 year 2.5 - 3 pack a day habit. And now I have been quit for 3 Weeks, 6 Days, 23 hours, 57 minutes and 13 seconds (27 days). I have saved $237.97 by not smoking 1,119 cigarettes. I have saved 3 Days, 21 hours and 15 minutes of my life. My Quit Date: 10/1/2008 11:00 PM. Let me know if I can be of any support to you.

Hello Rockthisamadaus! I am so glad you're here! Welcome to this site! There are lots of groups and discussions you can check out and a plan that this site offers to help you with your quit. I am 53 and smoked off and on since I was 15. I quit over 4 years ago. I didn't think I could quit, but one day I decided to just do it. The first few days were tough, but I got through them by using lozenges and the support of my son. There are limitless benefits of being a non-smoker. I believe that smoking is smoking, no matter what's in the cigarette. I'm here to help you experience the freedom of smoking no longer controlling your life. I am a mother of 3 grown kids and they are so grateful that I will be around longer since I quit.
