Not as easy as I thought.

Today is the 2nd of April and really the third day of my quit. But I have not really quit. First day felt so out of my body and weird, I bought a pack in the afternoon and smoked half. The next day, the first, smoked the other half. Today vowed not to buy cigs. Things have gone pretty well, I took a nap. That helped. The morning was fine the hours at the library were slow for me. I felt slow physically and mentally. Was doing ok, but neighbor who smokes came over and I bought one cig from her an… Continue

Margaret,

Hi, my quit date is April 6th, but I have tried numerous times to quit. Actually, every time I put out a cigarette, I am trying to quit. I will support you in any way I can. I don't know if this is a common fear, but my biggest fear about my quit date is- once I start, I can never turn back. I have smoked for 33 years, so I have never been a non-smoking adult. please keep in touch and let me know how you are doing. Best of luck! You can do it. You said you had quit for 20 years, so you KNOW you can quit. Just don't give in.

sounds good to me! oh, yeah, i know all about the contradictions. at least you're TAKING your vitamins. that's keeping you healthy. i think the gym is a great idea. i'm not sure if you can exercise on the patch, so i haven't gone to the gym. i need to investigate because my booty is getting TOO BIG! lol! =) at least i'm no longer smoking, right! =)

hey margaret! i've heard that we smoke or participate our addiction when we are hungry, angry, lonely or tired (H.A.L.T.). i know you live alone and am not presuming that you are lonely at all, it just gave me some insight when i knew this. i smoked ALOT more when i wasn't married than i did when i lived alone. anyway, maybe a 30 minute daily walk would be a good interruption to your routine. it helped me when i tried to quit months ago and i looked better to boot! i need to pick up that routine again. anyway, best of luck!

Hello Margaret! Welcome to BecomeanEx.org. I am 53 years old and I smoked for 35 years. I've been a non-smoker since July 17, 2004. Quitting smoking was one of the best decisions I've ever made. I love the fact that I don't allow my addiction control every aspect of my life anymore. I want you to have the same benefits I have as a non-smoker, and I'll help you any way I can. You are welcome to check out the group "Yes You Can." BecomeanEx.org is the best website to get the help you need.
