Hello Lisa! Welcome to this site. I smoked off and on for 35 years and I've been a non-smoker for over four years now. This is my fourth time quitting. My last quit lasted 19 months and it took me 30 years to quit again. I don't cough anymore. Ever. Except when I laugh too much. My granddaughters have never seen me smoke. You don't have to go through this alone because there's lots of people here that are more than willing to help you. Contrary to what a small minority of people here think, stick with the winners in here; the ones who are taking this seriously and not smoking anything else as a substitute. You no longer have to let smoking control your life. Quitting smoking is like giving up your comfort blanket and changing your lifestyle. It is hard, but the hard part is temporary and well worth it.

Hey Lisa! That's great! Sucking on sunflower seeds is a good one and one I never thought of! I look forward to chatting with you again as well.
