About Me:
I will be 32 on May 12, and my quit date will be the next day. This will be the year that I quit forever! I have been smoking since I was 14, and now I have a 14 y/o son who I would hate to begin this horrible addiction. I appreciate all the support this community can give me and hope I can support others as well. There are many lovely, inspiring people here, and we can all do this together!

Lauren!!!! hows it going sweetie? hope all is well, how was your birthday? and hows the quitting going? today was good, i didn't have any slip-up's also my uncle got me these pills from the vitamin store called "Smoking Withdrawal" Non-habit forming. its all totally natural and its good to relieve the cravings, nervous tension, irritability ans helps you detox ( by helping you detox it just keeps sending you to the damn bathroom) but it has helped with my anxiety. check it out! hope to hear from you soon.

hAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!! HOWs it going? well i'm only on day 2 and have already slipped up, the morning was fine, driving was fine, at school was fine, it wasn't until i cooked dinner tonight and some family came over, and ate, drank, and talked and then...... they went outside, and i followed, thinking that i would not be influinced to smoke. but you know i had just ate and that was always the best smoke for me. and what did i do? YES! i took about three drags, and as soon as i did so, i felt like crap. i came in the house brushed my teethe, scrubbed my hands and then wanted to get in the shower just to get the smell off of me. im so freakn upset. but i can blame noone but myself. but i didn't want to tell those around me what i had done, because i would have felt like a complete failure.OMG!!

Hi Lauren. I saw your question about the sauna and detoxing. I don't, but what I do is practice yoga and have been for about a year and a half. There are so many different kinds (and most just focus on the asanas - poses). I go to a couple of different kinds of classes, one more excercise (vinyasa) and also to some "gentle" classes. In the gentle classes, it's a bit slower, but not easy and it focuses on holding things a little longer, flexibilty, and lots of twists. The twists sort of wring out your internal organs and let new blood back in. Anyway, even when it's slow and you're just holding a twist, I'll really start sweating. Just a thought. I really like it.

every time i sneak a cigarette, i force myself to ride my bike to somewhere in the city to put one of these stickers up. it makes me do aerobic exercise, which the smoking doesn't help, and also makes me think twice about if i really want that smoke.

Hey Lauren, thanks for visiting my page, as far as nicotine goes......I started my quit with the patch and Wellbutrin. The more time I was here and the thought that I would never be truly free until the nicotine was completely out of my system, made me decide to quit the patch after 10 days. The Wellbutrin is suppose to help curb the cravings and I will admit it has been a help. I am now weening myaself from Wellbutrin as well.
Now I will say that this is what is working for me, no one is completely the same as the next so what and however makes it right for you to stay quit, that is the way to go. NO MORE SMOKING EVER. Today is the first day of my 3rd month.

Thanks, Lauren, for being the first person to respond to me today, my first day here! I joined an online support group, such as this one, to help me through 11 months of chemo and I have no doubt that's a big part of what got me through that hell!! I am so encouraged to find a place such as this!
