Kayla - When I quit I did not even do anything that would make it easy to relapse. I got rid of the ashtrays, lighters, and cigarettes. I did not go out on my screened in porch. I did not take breaks at work at all and just recently started to take them again and I am at 5 1/2 months. I did not spend any time with smokers and if I was around one it was outside only. Everytime I felt like I wanted a smoke I would come on here and blog about it. I would post a blog on the main page, on sub groups like Candid quitters and Triggers and send a private message to my friend list. Then I would stay glued to my computer taking the good advice and support of others until the craving passed. I am also a member of a few 12-step recovery programs and if I could not shake the desire to smoke I would go to a meeting. The bottom line was that I just hung on by my fingertips a lot and waited to feel different. I won't be relapsing now and when I talk about wanting a smoke it is just talk and does not move into an active desire to have one.

Hey Kayla - how's it going? Haven't heard from you in a while. How is that quit? I have gone a few weeks without thinking about smoking and now it seems the closer I get to 6 months the more it pops into my head. I hate that. I hope your quit is great and you are great too!

Hey! I put a quit counter on my page on day 2 so I would have something to mark my progress and something for others to see how far I have come. It is a great motivator for me. Might consider one for you too.

I love that you put a message up for yourself full of love. Very sweet!
