friends are a blessing

Whenever I look back on past quits I can remember exactly how long they were before I relapsed and there have been some that lasted three months. I am sitting here this morning before work checking in with my ex-er friends and just feeling so warmed inside by all your love and support. You all are right, this is a big deal. A very big deal. Yes, I am proud of being smoke free a month after I said "This is it." BUT....I don't really feel the need to reward myself or do anything special. I've told a couple of people who care, but really, I'm kind of "meh" about it. What really gets me excited, and it's because I've quit smoking is the fact that I can see the muscles in my arms now, and although I'm not any lighter, I look leaner and feel stronger, because I can work out now! It's almost been a month now, and I have to say, it has flown by. Anyone who has struggled with multiple relapses, take heart, every time we quit we learn. I know there's that little child inside that says, "Oh sure, you've promised this so many times, how can I believe this is IT?"
