36 years old first time trying to quit, been smoking since I was 13 tired of it!!!! My story is long and I hope I will be able to open up and share it some day. I have realized somethings in the short time I've joined. I can do this... I need to do this... I will do this!!!!!!!!!

Thank you for the comment, Jamie. As far as picking your quit date, I suggest you pick one where you'll quit soon. Don't give yourself time to change your mind. We have an addiction that tells us we don't have one. No matter what, the beginning of your quit will be difficult because of the lifestyle change. But as long as you stay motivated, it won't be as bad as you think.
Hello Jamie! I would like to extend a warm welcome to you. This is a great way to start out 2009! I'm 53 and I started smoking when I was 15. I quit on July 17, 2004. I was so scared when I quit, but it was the best thing I ever did for myself. There's lots of great people to help you on this site.
