Hello J A, I just saw your post on New Year's Day Exes and wanted to let you know that I experienced the very same thing yesterday - wanting a cigarette like crazy, feeling like I was on day 2. What's UP with that??? I made it through though and I hope you did too. Welcome to day #40 (soon), I am sure that by day 140 we'll be laughing about all this!
I saw where you posted that 5 pounds have snuck up on you. Not to worry. A few pounds is a small price to pay for freedom. Besides, we can always lose the weight later. I'm not on any kind of "diet." I'm eating what I want, when I want!
I'm still mad! I'm getting ready to call Charter and change my service. That'll get my yaya's out about not being able to smoke.
I am so very grateful that I didn't have a "just-in-case" pack of smokes laying around my office. Whew.
You hang in there. We can do this. Even my newly discovered 8 lbs.!
OMG! I just about had a breakdown. I just got off the phone with one of those wonderful AT&T customer service folks (that I swear is in training) and I hate to say it but, if I'd had a cigarette in the past 45 minute conversation, I'd have smoked! Breathe...breathe....breathe. I'm going to workout now. You doin' okay?
i also started a cleanse when i quit! i feel like anything i can do to make it up to my body for the past 35 years of smoking will help. amazing that we did that to ourselves for so long. good luck. and, congratulations!
Hello J A! Congradulations on your quit! I would like to extend a warm welcome to you. This is a great way to start out 2009! I'm 53 and I started smoking when I was 15. I quit on July 17, 2004. I was so scared when I quit, but it was the best thing I ever did for myself. There's lots of great people to help you on this site. Stick with the winners; the ones who are positive and enthusiatic about helping you. You are welcome to check out the group "Yes You Can."
