Wow! Three more days and it will be a whole year! How does it feel? Do you ever get any urges still? I only get one occasionally. It's so wonderful to be free! I've never been in jail or a slave, but I imagine it's like being set free from that. I love this new freedom! I just wish I could be slimmer. Maybe someday I'll be able to have more control in that area.

Ellen...I thought I'd put this on your page since you might not see it in the Discussions. Ellen, Thank you! I'm so sorry to hear about your precious Mom! I'm pretty sure it's doubly hard to quit after smoking so much of your life. You don't remember what life was like before you smoked, so you have nothing to compare with. I only had the few times that I had quit in the past and it wasn't really long enough to really remember that well. Anyway, as I said on my page, I had to decide if I really wanted to live or die from emphysema and COPD. I chose life and I'm trying to improve it in every area since I'm no longer a slave to nicotine. Oh, and you're welcome for the help, Hon, and thank you for participating in the discussions!

I just noticed that we aren't friends yet. I'm going to add you, O.K.?

Ah...Maine. I'm originally from Freeport, Long Island. I was going to invite you to meet me for a cocktail to celebrate our quits when I go home in the summer. Well...we can still celebrate here.

Thanks for the suggestion about Carr's book. I've seen it mentioned on this site quite a bit and I was thinking about picking it up.
