Hello Darko! I would like to extend a warm welcome to you. This is a great way to start out 2009! I'm 53 and I started smoking when I was 15. I quit on July 17, 2004. I was so scared when I quit, but it was the best thing I ever did for myself. There's lots of great people to help you on this site. Stick with the winners; the ones who are positive and enthusiatic about helping you. You are welcome to check out the group "Yes You Can."
I've been snacking a fair amount too. I have apple slices and cucumbers so that will hopefully keep me from putting on too much weight. I'm also using exercising as a strategy since it reminds me that I want to be able to run without feeling out of breath right away. Good luck!
As I said in my other post, Green Tea might help with the food cravings. I chowed down on lettuce and raw carrots until I thought they'd come out of my ears! It's ok to stuff yourself with food as long as the food's healthful and good for you. Strenuous exercise might also help with the food cravings.
One more day (THEY SAY) and then the nicotine will be out of your system. My first three days were easy, it was the next three that were tough. Everybody's quit is different. You're doing well, Darko. Keep it up!
It's great you've decided to quit smoking. How long have you been a smoker? Ever tried to quit before? Best thing to do is spend time reading as much as you can all over the place in here. There are lots of people in various stages of quitting and you'll learn much about the process from them. Experiment, play, see what works for you and disregard that which doesn't.
the headaches will go away pretty soon, you will start to feel better, i know, i thought that, damn, i went through all i did to feel like s!!t, but it does go away. it is just your body healing it self. if you gain a few lps. you can allway,s loose it after you get established in the quit. just be more stubborn than the craves, nothing can beat you peace!
