About Me:
I am 37 years old , married and have two teenage children. I have been smoking for 21 years. I've tried quitting several times and I'm hoping I get it right this time. This time I went back to using the patch because that is what i used the time i quit and made it 3 months, which is the longest I have made it.

Yeal, I hope you try again. I know it's not easy but it is well worth it once you get away from them for awhile. It does start to get better. And try what I use to say to myself....I would rather quit smoking when I'm 37, then when I'm 73. Eather way, you really need to quit sometime, Darcie. And if you want, I can be the buddy that you talk to , or if you need to vent, what-ever. There is alot of information on here and whyquit.com that you should check out. That would really help in you making up your mind, I think. It's totally up to you though. I wish you well and get back to me when-ever you can.......

Congratulations on the 3 Months, you've made it past the hardest part. Now you won't believe how quickly time passes. Before you know it, 6 months will have gone by, And you start to feel stronger and breath better. It truely is amazing how a person starts to feel better. I'm glad you're on the right road to recovery. It has made a big difference in how I feel I hope it does the same for you.

Darcie: How have you been?? Are you still out there somewere?? How's it going with the patch? And what level of streignth are you on. I know I did them for a month or two past when they said to stop useing them. I figured that was better than going back to smoking. And I'm still a Non-smoker. Boy, that's nice to finally say after smoking for 30 years. I've almost reached my 1 Year and it's got to do with coming on here and finding the support you need. I hope I can be one of your supports if you need one. And believe me, you do stop thinking about them so much. They start loosing there appeal. That's when you Know you have them out of your life. And that is such a joyest occasion.

Glad you are doing well. I hope someday we don't think about ciggs. It's getting less often so that's good. I'm going on 6 weeks now except for my little slip up. Not to bad. I'm down to the 14mg patch now.
Hope you have a great day. My puggle puppy is trying to eat the remote, the chase is on!

Thanks for that!! Sometimes you need a pep talk...I know I do. The Chantix really has been working and I'm feeling pretty good these days. I can't wait till I'm to the point where I don't even think about cigarettes anymore. How have you been?

Darcie: Hang in there, it WILL get better. I promise. I'm sorry to hear about your slip up but rest asure we've all done it. Now you just have to think Positive. Keep it up and stay on the patch. It worked for me after I'd smoked for 32 years. It helps take the edgey feeling off. ( You know the one were you'd like to bite someones head off?) lol. I never thought I'd ever go this long without a smoke again, but I'm going on 10 months the 21st of Sept. I started when I was 15 in school, just to fit in. Boy, was that a mistake. Those so called friends back then are long gone but the cigarettes held on to me for 32 years! ! Almost as long as you have been alive,Darcie. I always say ," It's better to quit at 37 than 73. Right? I quit at 46,not 64 years of age. That sounds bad enough. I just hope I live past 64 years.Or 27 instead of 72 years old. That's even worse. I'm sorry I was rambling,Darcie. Just wanted to let you know, we're here for you whenever you'd like to vent . Stay in control,o.k.? You can do it. don't let anyone or anything take that from you. YOU ARE STRONG ! !

I think it's the definetly the drinks that make it so tempting. I just got back from the beach, took extra long walks and actually don't even want one. I'm having a hard time dealing with things though...I think that before when I was upset, mad or whatever I would smoke my woes away and now I feel more emotional than ever. I guess it's just all in good time that I will be back to my old self. Hope you had a good weekend too :)
