My quit date was January 1st. I've been smoking about 35 years, and it's time to learn something new. I'm on day 26, with the initial help of Chantix, being smoke-free. I'm taking Chantix every other day now. I feel as if can do this on my own. And, my friends, if I can do this... you can do this too. Good luck!

I can relate to why you started smoking again. I stoped for about 2yrs and then started again to piss off my ex husband!!!! HAHAHAHA! I showed him!!! NOT!!!! Well now I'm going on week 3 cold turkey, and w/ the help of an amazing book, Allen Cars easy way to stop smoking... Which I got from an awsome friend who told me about this site and book!!!! Hang in there!
Congrats on completing Day 19. Let's hope Day 20 goes well.
Thanks for your note. I sure understood what you were talking about when you said you had to do something wrong :-) Been there, done that. Foolishness happens to the best of us.
Thanks for sharing what you did on Lyndi's page about the reason you started smoking after 3 years of being quit. I completely understood it. As for the eating, I have cut carbs for the first month during the quit (which is an easy way for me to lose weight, so I chose it to just try and maintain my weight). I am snacking on cheese cubes, celery with natural peanut butter, small amounts of white cheddar popcorn, etc. I eat steak and chicken for dinner, and am not limiting my fat intake (which is OK without carbs for a limited time). I suck on Splenda enhanced candy and eat the low carb ice cream bars. Although I am certainly not losing weight, and I am eating more than normal, I have not put on weight during the 17 days I have been smoke free. That seems to be working for me. I know cutting carbs is not easy for everyone, but it keeps me from getting the salt and sugar cravings that would make me graze more right now.
HEY DANA,
I HAVE 5 POUNDS THAT SNUCK UP ON ME TOO. REMEMBER I AM DOING THE CLEANSE...USUALLY THAT TAKES OFF A COUPLE OF POUNDS. OH WELL...I RATHER HAVE A FEW EXTRA POUNDS THAN CANCER. Good luck!!
HEE HAW!!! THAT WAS FUNNY!! THE UNIVERSE WAS TESTING YOU!! YOU DIDN"T BREAK DOWN. GOOD GOING!! I need to call Verizon...but after your scare...I will email them instead. LOLOL
Still not 100 percent but better. Doctor and pharmacist says viral and lasting a while.3 wks or so. Michigan is cold and horrible now. Tomororw the high is 4 degrees before wind chill, then you factor that in. More snow. Will wait and see how I feel rest of the week. If still sick go back next week, I'm better just head is really congested and back still hurts.
YES DANA, THE CLEANSE IS REALLY HELPING. TOMORROW WILL BE THE LAST DAY FOR IT. I ONLY USED A NIC PATCH TWICE , ON DAY 1 AND DAY 3. I HOPE YOU ARE FEELING GREAT. I AM. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!!
