5 Months!

And here I sit at 5 months...remember back at day 1 and 2 dreaming of reaching this moment, and here it is. I'M FREE!!!!! I am no longer a slave to a nasty chemical that the government has thier hand in the cookie jar for the money to be made. We I no longer support their habits of lining their pockets and watching therm get rich off of us suffering and becoming addicted to a drug. I am now against having to think "milk or a pack of smokes" There is no oher choice...MILK for the kids will be bou… Continue

4 months smoke free

Here I am smoke free for 4 months. I remember being on day 1 thinking, wow if I could only get to one month, or wow would it not be nice too have 3 months under my belt. I now have the 4 months and feel pretty darn good about it, It was a rough road, and like I have said before, I NEVER can nor want too smoke again, because quitting again would be pure HELL. At this point like others have said, if I were too smoke again, that would be a choice I have made. There are still times I have unusual ur… Continue

90 days!

Hey guys, Yes, it has been a while since I have posted a blog. Shame on me! In 2 hours I will have 90 days under my belt. I feel accomplished! I have a decent milestone under my belt and that feels good. After you get past the initial addiction, it becomes your will and your want to stay clean and smoke free. Sure there are urges here and there. Im sure I will have these for sometime down the road, but I know I can live without smoking cigarettes. If I were to go back to smoking, that would be a… Continue

Dentist

I went to the dentist today. First time in a long time. I went for a cleaning, and I do have periodontal disease (sp). Well as she is cleaning (I have to be numb to be cleaned) she gets under my gums and says...wow you have alot of dark staining under there, and showed me, it was SOOO disgusting. This I am positive is from smoking the past 15 years. Dark brown stains. But I am trying to reverse as much of the damage as I can to my teeth and my body from smoking. It was just a reminder of how tru… Continue

Fortunately being strong isn't the only choice I have left - yet. But I'm grateful for the strength I do have to continue to fight this addiction. And your 137 smoke free days look mighty beautiful to me. And I'm sure to a whole lotta others who are hoping to get to where you are. So you keep up YOUR strength.

Cheering you on.....

Hey lady, you need to use a turn signal if you're going to change lanes that quickly! I just about broke my neck reading that note! First of all, good luck with your husband's surgery. That sounds painful. Also, a change in diet or a complete change in your lifestyle will take time and some getting used to. I know your heart likes the exercise, even if you don't! So give it some time and don't get too disappointed with any setbacks when you step on the scale and don't see immediate results. Patience, my dear!

I was a bad boy over the weekend......as far as my diet was concerned. We went to an old friend's Italian restaurant on Sat. night and it was so good. Homemade spaghetti and mushrooms stuffed in ravioli. It took my stomach a while to figure the diet thing out. After a few weeks, the hungry all the time feeling went away for the most part. The trick is finding filling foods that are healthy and lo cal/fat. Hey if I had known I was going to live this long, I would have taken better care of myself!! Have fun today, kid.
