Ten months today! I am still amazed at how much healthier I feel since I quit. Thanks for being "here" ladies. JA - yes, I still get cravings. Sometimes lots of them. But, I decided last December 31st that cigarettes were no longer an option, so........

It's here!!!!! 300 Days!!!!! Yeah yeah yeah!!!!!! We are awesome!!!!!! Thanks for hanging in there with me. There were days this group made the difference for whether I smoked or not. I couldn't of stood to tell you two I gave in.....so I didn't and boy am I glad I didn't. 65 more days. I wish we could all get together to celebrate. Would that be fun or what? Congratulations!!!!!!

Hey JA. Now we finally know you're younger and cuter than us. Humph!! Congrats on the new car. You'll have money for regular oil changes and gasoline for it too. :-) I haven't seen the ad, but you're right - in my case anyway - been there - done that!

IN FACT I DID USE MY MONEY TO BUY A NEW CAR!! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!! LIFE IS GOOD!! EVEN BETTER WITHOUT POISONOUS CANCER STICKS!! HAS ANYONE SEEN THE TV ADS THAT THIS WEBSITE ARE RUNNING ON TV DURING THE BASEBALL GAMES? THEY ARE SO FUNNY AND POIGNANTLY TRUE!! SHOWS A WOMAN HAVING A DRINK WHILE SMOKING AT WORK!! HI there, I will have saved $3972.00 by the end of this year at 6.00 dollars a pack and two packs a day. That's a down payment on a new car! Incredible! I am so proud of us. Just 10 more weeks and it is going to be that one year and we have done it! We will still have to be on guard but it should be be down hill from there. Yeah us!!!!!! Love you guys, Nancy

WOW LYNDI THAT IS AMAZING SAVINGS!! I JUST DID MY COUNTER AND I SAVED $1411. I USE TO SMOKE 14-15 A DAY AT $7.00 A PACK. AND YOU THINK AMERICAN CIGS ARE CHEAP? I'M GLAD TO HEAR YOU ARE MANAGING YOUR PAIN W/O OUR ENEMY. ;)

I forgot to add the money saved for JA - $2,373.00. (Good thing I ended up smoking cheap American cigarettes, or that number would be at least doubled!) The best part though is the 11,488 cigarettes NOT smoked by me! I still get wild cravings, still have dreams, and still have to grab an NRT binkie now and then. But, considering that I smoked for 46 years and was a very heavy smoker for the last 10 or so years, I didn't expect this to be easy. lol I said I'd do whatever it took to keep me off of tobacco in 2009. My doc and I discuss my progress every two months as well. My asthma is well under control now and I've ramped up my physical exercise again. I am hoping that these cravings and dreams will pass by the end of the year. If they don't, I'll just have to keep dealing with them in 2010 - one day at a time :-)

Hi JA and Nancy. My pain level is really high tonight, so I'm up in the wee hours. This is when I used to do some of my heaviest smoking. Sure glad those days are behind me.

I don't know why/what it was that made it possible for the three of us to do this quit and stay quit, but I'm sure glad we did. I hope some of the others are off enjoying February quits and July quits:-) In the Yahoo group I belong to, there have been some people fall on their "butts" in the last few months. The ones I really cheer for are the ones that get back up, dust themselves off, and immediately quit again. Some of them only smoked one or two cigarettes or cigars. A few smoked a pack or two. Then they got right back to quitting. They barely made a blip in the quit smoking radar :-)

In 2 and a half months, we three will have a year in. I do so want to make the year. That will be amazing!!!!
