I believe that it is possible to be outspoken, direct and honest without being rude and the Candid Quitters group strives to be just that. This group is designed to be a place where directness in manner and what we say will take place; without subtlety or evasion; "blunt talking and straight shooting”. It is a forthright approach to quitting smoking… a “tell me what you think--and you may just as well be frank" place to be. Stop smoking support from those who care enough to be plainspoken, honest and to the point with others.

Are you looking for heartfelt and straightforward quitting advice from open and sincere people? Are you ready for help that is no-nonsense, direct, frank, heart-to-heart, and completely honest – all given with courteous compassion, thoughtfulness and consideration from those who truly understand what you’re going through and truly want to see you succeed? Are you looking for reasons NOT to smoke and encouragement and assistance to stand your ground through even the most challenging times? The Candid Quitters group might be just be the place for you. But, if your'e looking for someone to buy into the junkie excuses as valid reasons to still smoke, you're probably in the wrong group.

As a very wise lady I know once said. "I believe that when a person is ready to quit, they are also ready to listen to those who have!!..." {Thanks Danielle ;) }

Bottom line... This is the place you come when you're done playing around with the idea of quitting and are ready to get it done once and for all!

Today is my first smoke free day after 47 days of smoking. I feel good about starting over. I made it 413 days last time. Next time life gets that intense I hope I am strong enough to stay quit. Sept.23 was one of my worst days ever so I am not beating myself up over it. Day 1.

K all...

The site is in transition. The old URL... Becomeanex.ning.com ... Will be ending. They are trying to transfer everything over to the new URL http://community.becomeanex.org . So please start using this new URL because it will be the only way to access community very soon. This new URL is currently working and we are all being encouraged to start using it and providing support there.

Make sure you have signed up for the Ex plan - use your same email addy and password as you were using to log on to the old URL for the support community. That will be the way into all of your old stuff. Our pages are still there, as are our blogs and such... They are just formatted a bit differently.

Our pages look different and everything seems a bit "off"... But the old Ex site did when I first logged on to it too, lol. I'm still fishing my way around but it looks like you can click on the "Edit Page" link at the top right side of your page on the new site and add "wigets". Your groups list, comment wall, blogs and all are there... Just move them over to where you want them to appear on your page on the hew site. It's not exactly the same... And so far I think I like the old format better... But this isn't any real big deal and the merging of the Ex plan site and the community support site will be of a benefit to many.

Just hang in there guys.

I am hanging in there. 15 days today and I have 2 small part- time jobs to do today. I am just grateful to have that small work rather than none. I am most likely taking along ride on Saturday with my mother and that will be a big first for me to go in a car and then NOT smoke when I get out. I am doing it now fine, but I only drive 10-15 minutes every time. So this is one of those firsts for me, but it is more a brain thing going on. I am just so used to doing it. But I can finally say to my grandparents who are in their 90's when they ask me is I am still smoking........NOPE!
ckoalaco Comment by ckoalaco on October 29, 2009 at 6:03am
I'm just peachy!! **note sarcasm** I'm still trying to remind myself that the glass is half full cuz I've been dealing with more then my share of "crisis crap" here lately. But it could be worse and I know that.

But still smoke free and the desire to light up ever again is SO gone it's not even funny. See... all of you who are wondering... do smokers who quit crave for cigarettes for the rest of their lives? The answer is a resounding NOPE !!! It's up to you where you park your mind. If you come to truly know and understand the truth about cigarettes and smoking, you'll come to truly not look back on them with any desire. I'm living proof that we do NOT need to suffer for years, lol.

How are you, my friend? And the rest of ya'll... how are you doing?? The change of seasons is upon us and the holiday times are creeping in on us. These things are some of those "firsts" that you hear me speaking about. Are ya'll hanging in there ok??
